Parco Archeologico Pinn’e Maiolu (Archaeological Park of Pinn'e Maiolu)
For archaeology enthusiasts, the village of Villanovaforru is the perfect destination to see magnificent vestiges from Prehistoric times where they can learn about the history of the village at its earliest stage.
They include the archaeological site of Pinn’e Maiolu, which stands out for having been the settlement of a few populations, their presence now proven by architectural remains that hint at a village of stone huts, originally covered in wood and branches.
The remains of an alleged complex nuraghe dating back to the early Iron Age have been found within the site as well. The recent excavations have brought to light a particular system of water canalization.
