Ancient Roman baths of Is Bangius

The Roman baths of Is Bangius were discovered in the 2000s, though the historians had already been researching the site earlier on.

The Sardinian name Is Bangius refers to the main purpose of the site, which can be translated into Italian as “hot baths”.

The excavations dug out a few remains of the baths and the spa, even if studies have not been completed yet. So, you will be exploring an open-air excavation site where you can appreciate the uniqueness of the effort to unearth treasures from a very distant past.
Because of its historical relevance, the Is Bangius site is part of the archaeology trails of the Marmilla region.
