Chiesa di Sant’Agostino (Church of St Augustine)

The Church of St Augustine was built in 1421 and has a very plain façade, extraordinarily outlined into a combination of well-balanced sharp lines.
As you step across the typical ogival door, you will feel how the starkness of the exterior is softened by the interiors, dominated by a wooden truss ceiling that relieves the gravitas of the style.
A dynamic flow of people surrounds the church in the last days of August when St Augustine’s Day is celebrated.
