Su Strintu ‘e Cresia
Su strintu ‘e cresia is an ancient route that connected the village to the Giara plateau.
Today, the trail has been repaved and protected by a local stone wall surrounded by a cheerful parade of centuries-old olive trees. The most outstanding of them is the olive tree with a fig tree growing inside.
Genuri is particularly rich in olive trees, to such an extent that no less than four monumental trees and approximately 750 centuries-old trees grow in the municipal area. Olive trees are assumed to have been there already when the Phoenicians and Greeks landed on the island.
As to oil making, some archaeological surveys have proven with a good level of certainty that olive oil was imported and used in very ancient times. Such an assumption has been supported by the finding of some oil-making tools, when olive trees began to be grown in the region.
