Fra Nicola’s birthplace

Today, the house in which Fra Nicola was born is considered to be a place of high historical and devotional value.
The house still retains all its old-world charm, letting you imagine the actions and rituals the Capuchin Friar performed every day.
Structurally, the building has fairly plain architectural features, as is to be expected from the humble lifestyle of the peasants of that time. When you enter, you can see the arcaded courtyard in which animals were kept, the three rooms, the kitchen and the mezzanine that was used to store grains.
The interior decoration is in typical 19th-century style though the furniture was added later, to re-enact the original household. The floor in the Blessed Soul’s bedroom is original, instead, and is very carefully protected to preserve its incalculable value.
