Pauli Arbarei - Festeggiamenti Santa Monica, Sant'Agostino e San Giovanni Battista e Sagra della Pecora

The celebrations for Santa Monica, Sant'Agostino and San Giovanni Battista, combined with the traditional Sheep Festival, represent the most awaited event of the year in the municipality of Pauli Arbarei.

The celebrations last 3/4 days, between 26 and 29 August, starting on the morning of the 27th with the traditional procession with the statues of saints Monica, Agostino and Giovanni Battista through the streets of the historic centre, followed by a court of knights and figures in typical costumes that recall past times, including the members of the Madonna del Rosario Confraternity and the Launeddas Players.

The event, from afternoon to evening, includes a full program of events: car races, art exhibitions, shows for children, craft markets, performances by artists, concerts and performances by comedians.

The evening of the 29th, at the end of the celebrations, is the opportunity to taste the delicious sheep meat, traditionally offered by the shepherds in honor of Saint John the Baptist.
